It is worth remembering that France blocked the inclusion of consent-based definition of rape in the EU’s directive to combat violence against women.
Gisèle Pelicot, who was unknowingly subjected to over a decade of rape by her husband and dozens of other men, gave her closing statement in one of France's biggest criminal trials.
