New article in Social Theory & Health, co-authored with
@judegreen.bsky.social, open access.

In a nutshell we argue that that lived-experience research is not the same as qualitative sociology in health research. The difference exists and matters.

I am not a lawyer, just a historian, but one fundamental problem with the political debate about the EU, especially in English publications is that the whole principle of the acquis communnitaire is not understood or taken seriously. The EU is a framework of rules, not an alliance.

How to conceptualise research environments for transdisciplinary work? How do researchers negotiate such spaces, and with which implications for knowledge produced? @rosetrappes.bsky.social and I answered by proposing the idea of "multiplex research environments"! See: rdcu.be/eN8ie #philsci

Good luck to Anita, but BBC reporting here that there is no international definition or agreed common symptoms is just wrong and perpetuates doubt and myths.

There is a WHO definition, and widely agreed pattern of common symptoms.

This is complete madness. The utter waste of huge time, effort, hope. And those tiny %s increasingly given to those PIs with grants already and no time to manage them. Funding needs overhaul.
After submitting a FOIA request UKRI, I obtained success rates by three grant call scheme and I can only say that I am disheartened by the results:

- AHRC Responsive Mode 2025: 2%
- ESRC New Investigator Grant 2025: 1%
- ESRC Research Grant Round 2025: 1%
