Miyazaki has recently said other directors at From will be free to work on their own projects without him as co-director. He loved making Bloodborne. Uncharacteristically, he said he wants to see BB on new hardware.

In terms of gameplay, there's always been a noticeable divide in the Souls games released before and after Bloodborne, with FromSoftware clearly leaning into its faster tempo. Given the direction of Sekiro and now Nightreign though, the pace seems to still be accelerating.

In Nightreign, you can now do something you could not do in any of the older Souls games from the past decade (including Elden Ring): "you can take ripostes and backstabs using a bow".
