At the Demon Slayer night walk, so much fun!

Saw Patricia Rabe last night in Samuel Beckett’s Happy Days at STC. Stunning play and beautifully executed—it was a bit of an emotional hard slog though. 90 minutes of strangeness and dense prose with meaningful facial expressions.

I know there's a Doomsday Clock, but what I really want is an indicator of how close we are to the Mushroom Wars and the Kingdom of Ooo.

If you're an elected Dem and your entire resistance plan is to just post on Twitter and Bluesky until midterms to roll around: you are actively accelerating the destruction of our democracy and you're as big of a problem as Musk.

Just resign and let someone who will fight every day take your place.

Notwithstanding the fact that I believe that every person has the right to believe what they want to and be free to do so, religion has been the most insidious divisive force in human history and today, and I am of the firm stand that organised religion needs to be dismantled.

The world has gone to shit, so here's a picture of Ziggy to brighten your day.

And with one confirmation of RFK Jnr it’s now physically unsafe to go to the USA. It’s going to be a place where disease and pathogens are rife. Also I can’t watch anything with Cheryl Hines in it any more because what the hell?

Sometimes I am in a meeting and it's like every word makes me die a little inside.

Question for @web-goddess.org and whomever feels qualified to weigh in.
With the proliferation of roles and titles in tech, I need to reset myself at times and figure out what a role means.
With that, what's the specifics of what makes a *Solution* Architect over any other sort of tech architect?

Cracking night to watch Kneecap at the outdoor cinema.

Am I a deranged sicko that I find deadly spiders like the Funnel Web to be fascinating and kind of beautiful?

Sure, in Australia some of the wildlife actively tries to kill you, but at least our government mostly works for our good.

psst. Elon was always a crazy nazi racist asshole. You just didn't notice it until it became so obvious that my giddy aunt could see it.

If you choose to keep or buy anything that is associated with Musk, please don't let me know it because we probably won't be friends for long after that happens.

My eagle eyed wife saw this guy wandering in the grass outside the house. Hope he finds a mate and doesn’t try to accidentally wander into the house overnight.
Sydney Funnel Web spiders are not really what I want to encounter in the house…they’re just a little deadly.

Already fed up to the back teeth with hearing about DeepSeek. It's like the AI spruikers had to get something new in the news to reengage interest in AI, and it worked to distract everyone with the new shiny dangling keys.

There's only one policy "threat" from Trump that I'd be glad to see, for personal/selfish reasons — taxation based on residency rather than citizenship. So many headaches could be solved for me. Also would save me time and effort (and money) renouncing US citizenship.

I don't know if it's just me, but for my fellow Australian tech folks, it seems that The Sizzle has kind of lost its edge since Anthony handed it over. @web-goddess.org you put me onto The Sizzle, what do you think?

This morning was the second time I’ve had to get Ziggy off a wallaby he managed to catch. This dog is going to be the death of me.

I’ve reached the age where I am so disappointed with the world in general and people in general that I don’t know how I can keep going in the face of it all. My life is not hard by any means but hope for the future is all but gone.
