Why bomb Venezuelan boats? Why are there so many Venezuelan migrants? Why the obsession with Tren de Aragua? Why are we sending the CIA into Venezuela? Why did the US collapse the Venezuelan economy with sanctions? Why is Chevron propping up the Venezuelan economy and supporting a dictatorship?

This is the biggest attack on free speech since the McCarthy era but it also has significantly less popular consensus behind it than the second Red Scare. It's being done on behalf of a minority faction led by the most unpopular president in modern history. Organizing against this can win.

In Chicago, public roads are used to store private vehicles en masse—sometimes even for free. And yet my local bike lane has oil stains from the cars that regularly use it as overflow parking.

Public parks are for all—housed and unhoused. But also when a park turns into an housing encampment, the park is no longer for all. It’s ok to balance that complexity.
While all eyes are on ICE this week, the city has confirmed plans to clear an encampment of unhoused people in Legion Park early Tuesday morning.

Community advocates posted this flyer asking for support and they’ll be holding a press conf, alongside park residents, on Monday at 9am in the park.

When I see people online, even in jest, suggest that people living in Republican-controlled states should be abandoned because of their politicians, I feel a deep heartache. New York CREATED Donald Trump and none of y’all are ever talk about it the way you disparage Alabama or Mississippi.

I still think the best idea for progressive donors is to just revive every alt-weekly in the country and staff them with 10 reporters each.
I wrote a bit about the misguided effort by Democrats to replicate Joe Rogan the right-wing podcast ecosystem.

They should really just pitch protected bike lanes as “bike free” lanes for cars so we can get the neighborhood NIMBYs on board
