Objectively, hate gains much more power when it's able to organize under religious doctrine. Love demonstrably does not. Look no further than the Christian right who now have a chokehold on Congress and state houses. More importantly look at what they are trying to do.

When the next massive hurricane decimates the region and FEMA fails to show up, these dipshits will still vote Republican.
Weather and climate research funds are being “chainsawed” from NOAA's budget. Last I checked, Louisiana & Florida, which are maximally susceptible to Hurricanes, voted Red in the last General Election.
