Took a break and watched the short 1965 film "The Hand," from Czech animator Jiri Trnka.

This is a nightmarish little film about life under totalitarianism that initially strikes a whimsical tone and then gets progressively darker.

When making an animated film, no detail gets overlooked. In this case it is Anastasia's hair. Of course it is a design but at the same time it must fit the character, which is a poor peasant girl who doesn't have time to go to a hair dresser. - Don
