Yesterday was a monumental day for Nottingham and the Green Party. Through the efforts of our Green Councillor Shuguftah Quddoos and Party Activist Animah , as well as countless others, a motion to Boycott, Divest, and Sanction Israel has been passed uncontested.

Eliza's story is in Notts Live today. Her essential personal care has been cut as a result of Labour cllrs voting for a 'review' of high needs care packages.

This is the human impact of cuts to public services. Disabled residents & unpaid carers deserve better & I'll keep amplifying their voices.

@nottsgreenparty.bsky.social welcomed 177 new members this week alone. Each one brings hope and commitment to a fairer, greener city!

In the same week, Sherwood welcomed all with signs of kindness, where flags were before

Signs of kindness put up along Nottingham road in place of flags
It is not clear who put up the signs, which have appeared on lamp-posts along a road in Nottingham.

Before I was a cllr I worked for several women's shelters. Now, I often handle domestic violence cases & I couldn't do it without my caseworker, Tamia. She always goes the extra mile behind the scenes. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month & I want to thank her for the hidden work she does 🤍

Snapshots of summer in the ward🌻

Everything from filling potholes, street clean-ups & fighting evictions with ACORN Union...

...to refreshing disabled parking spots, celebrating community centres & checking in on elderly residents during the heatwaves.

No two days are the same in this job!🏘♻️👷🏾

Know Their Names. Yesterday, the names of 18,500+ Palestinian children murdered in the Gaza genocide were read aloud in the city centre, from morning till midnight. I'm used to public speaking but the words have never felt heavier.

Gratitude to Bridgford Muslim Action Group & others for organising🇵🇸

When Claremont Primary Wellbeing Ambassadors wanted to help their lonely classmates, we found a way to bring their idea to life. W/ the help of Selco, parents, some paint & pupils, 2 new friendship benches were recently unveiled🎨🫂

Always here to support my youngest residents to make change happen!

As another heatwave hits the UK, the UK Green Building Council have said the UK’s schools, care homes and offices are not equipped for the effects of global heating.

We need a maximum working temperature and urgent adaptation to protect people from the effects of extreme heat.

The Labour government's changes to Personal Independence Payment (PIP) will drive disabled people further into poverty. Scrap the plans now!

Join us tomorrow, 1:30pm in Old Market Square, along with charity Disability Support, Notts TUC and Unite Community to stand for a more humane welfare system.

•Celebrating refugee week & 25 years of Refugee Forum. I've also been supporting asylum seekers to access fresh food & financial support.

•Counter-protesting the far right✊🏽

@councillorq.bsky.social said to the Nottingham Post: "I'm proud to stand for a city and a political party that is proud of diversity and welcomes migrants. It is a strength not a problem."

Israel — on trial for genocide at the ICJ, with leaders under ICC arrest warrants — bans journalists from Gaza to hide its genocide with lies & hasbara.

The evidence of war crimes is overwhelming — yet the UK government still refuses to implement a full arms embargo & sanctions.

You know this is the point - it's the lazy city.

You need food, you pop to the shop, you want to go to the pub, you just go. You walk to work.

No need to think about if your car is fueled, about traffic, parking., anything.
rebranding the 15 min city.
