you guys remember those big ominous cubes in the middle of town when we were growing up? what was with that
This was working fine a few months ago and I didn't touch a thing over here.

I mean.
I guess it's still kinda working.

Since Valley of Guilt takes place in the 90s, here are some cool areas in my game to take a quick smoke break in:

Driving through Iowa while it's foggy today. Here are two pics I just took, zero editing.

I think one of the toughest things about being on Bluesky is that my game dev Twitter account was built up over 5 years, across 10 short games.

These days I'm only working on one (big) game and it feels different to only be posting about that singular project consistently 🤷‍♂️

TIL: There were different GPUs between earlier + later PS1 models that resulted in noticeably different graphics.

Dropped by Twitter this morning and I feel like this properly summarizes the current state over there:

There's a 𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 in my game where you have to search through a pile of trash bags, looking for a key item.

It is driven purely by RNG.

No. I won't be changing it.

Love the latest @70sscifiart.bsky.social mailout featuring all manner of metaphysical DOORS.

I humbly submit one of my own, would that it please the social media gods...

I managed to get Windows 98 on to my Steam Deck AND install "Escape From Horrorland" too, so there's my day sorted.

less uwu indie publishers, more collectives. Grab a bunch of friends making games similar to yours, make a single social account for promotion, and share the burden of Posting. Bundle them together. Promote each other and do less work at the same time

Some environmental details change in Rust Valley between day and night. This one seemed like a no-brainer.

I can promise that I'm continuously trying to ensure zero AI assets are included in "Valley of Guilt." I've historically relied on paid stock photos though and, unfortunately, I suspect that some of the stock photo sites aren't properly vetting the results of their "Exclude AI" category.

Can't wait until doctors shift to "vibe healthcare" and schools to "vibe teaching"
Pretty disappointed in both @humblebundle.com and especially in @girlswhocode.bsky.social. Please teach girls how to code, don't push them into generative AI. That won't build their skills. Prioritize foundational programming skills and awaken their interest. "Tired of long days writing code"???

While I do still play the occasional AAA game, I feel like indie games (by smaller teams) are the only things that can get emotions out of me these days.

Give me that direct feed in to other's brains, both good and bad, unfiltered, without consideration for the concept of "return on investment."

Every small town in America has buildings that look like this. I don't make the rules so Rust Valley is no exception.

When possible, it's best not to spend too much time outside at night in Rust Valley.

I'm playing through Phantasmagoria: A Puzzle of Flesh for the first time right now (I know, I know - super late) and I absolutely love the set design across all of the cubicles

(four globes is excessive tho tbh)
