Just my silly lil thoughts, mostly about Star Trek. Pretty gay, pretty nerdy 🌈
I don't know if anyone at @developers.google.com reads these things, but the combination of sloppy AI summaries (that I can't turn off) and just hilariously but annoyingly irrelevant news stories in my Discover feed has led me to turning it off entirely.

There's your qual feedback.

That awkward moment when you take a nude pic thinking it's super hot...but on reflection it's like mediocre at best πŸ™ƒ

There is no greater cinematic experience than the blooper reel from Rush Hour 2.

Obviously I never want them to remake The Princess Bride, but if they did - have Pedro Pascal be Inigo Montoya, with Humperdink (Jonathan Bailey?) and the Count (Andrew Scott?) as not-so-secret lovers.

For some reason I also see Zendaya and Tom Holland as Buttercup and Wesley?

So, can anyone ever access @theverge.com without paying? Like putting the Pixel review behind a paywall makes zero sense to me - aren't reviews like y'all's main value prop as an outlet?

It's wild that an important subplot of the movie Gattaca is Ethan Hawke's doctor commenting on his huge penis.

Waking Ned Devine is an unspoken bisexual movie, right? Like Michael and Jackie's relationship is more than buds, like it's a love story in the movie itself.

I mean, bold of me to assume we make it that far, but ya gotta have hope I guess?

Does anyone else feel like every news article we see nowadays is gonna be in the opening montage for future movies set in this era?

Omg why is Speed Racer such a good movie? Why am I crying?

Though okay it's weird the Hirogen chose to be the Nazi's in this playground. Like wouldn't a hunter species like the idea of hunting Nazi's, setting traps, etc? They are such posers.

The Killing Game from #Voyager is a great reminder that no matter how terrifying of an alien monster species is, everybody loves make believe.

I have come to accept and love my beautiful contradictions. Like how I hate seafood but love ceviche. Or how I love water and boats, but not a fan of the beach cuz of the waves. It's not all black and white, I'm a complicated mess.

I'm realizing part of the reason I love Octavia E. Butler is that she writes stories of how individuals shape and influence communities. She balances the community vibe with an individual's role within it. It's beautiful.

So venture capital really looks at the world and says "let's give millions of dollars to this mission-driven startup making ChatGPT-enabled dog toys" while not supporting corporate/billionaire tax policies to fund public transit, rent control, or universal healthcare?

What does the Milky Way look like from the side? Thanks to data from ESA’s Gaia mission, we now have a detailed map showing its thin, warped disk β€” home to our Sun and billions of stars. A stunning view of our galaxy’s true shape.

I think I've posted this before, but #LowerDecks really missed an opportunity to highlight the Starfleet Fashion Core - the folks responsible for coming up with whole new uniforms every 4 years or some shit. #StarTrek

I don't think I really understood the meme of "every white cis guy wants to do a podcast" until I, a white cis guy, started getting into weed and now thinks every idea I have deserves a platform.

To be clear, I don't even like country as a genre for musical reasons, but if you remove the toxic masculinity, racism, gross nationalism, and sexism it may at least feel approachable.

My blessings to the they, gays, and gals who are slowly but surely co-opting the last stronghold of cishet man musician egos, country music.

"Unlike other issues, Trump is polling OK on immigration" isn't a reason for Democrats to ignore that issue, but rather a reason for them to attack it head on.

Public opinion can actually be moved, Democrats. And on this issue there's a lot to push back on.
