Kidnapping legal residents off the streets and confining them 1k miles away like they did with that tufts student is not what the “Land of the Free” should be doing. Remember, apathy sides with the oppressor, you can’t be “neutral”, you either push back or enable tyrants to burn the world.

I used to believe that violence shouldn’t be the force of change in the modern era, but seeing people who exploit the lives of others for profit quivering in fear makes me want to see it happen again. Remind them that money doesn’t make them gods, and that human animosity is a very scary thing.

I recently watched a Hank Green video about a bot that disagrees with everything and realized just how scarily effective social media bots can be at destabilizing people’s faith in information, so I’ve been thinking about how a normal citizen can become resilient to this type of manipulation. 🧵

This platform is looking pretty chill so far, though I’m a bit worried that users who don’t want it to become a repeat of twitter might overcorrect and result in a platform culture of toxic positivity, but that isn’t a meaningful concern to me right now.
