For the first time since 2019, the SWB RailRiders are heading to the playoffs. They beat Buffalo, 10-2, to win the 20-team International League's second-half title.

Fittingly, Jose Rojas helped break it open with his 32nd homer. Has 105 RBIs, 1 shy of Torey Lovullo's SWB record.

Hudson Valley Renegades entered this final, six-game series of the year against Greensboro trailing the Grasshoppers by 3.5 games in the standings.

They lost Wednesday, meaning every remaining game would be an elimination game.

They’ve won every one since, including 1-0 today.

The RailRiders were down three runs through six innings today, but rallied for a 5-3 win to take four of six in Buffalo this week.

The RailRiders are 36-15 (.706) in the second half, easily the best in Triple-A. They are also 74-49 (.602) overall. That, too, is best in Triple-A.

Spencer Jones went all of Saturday without homering.

So today, he homers in his first at-bat. Titanic shot the other way for his seventh at Triple-A. 104.1 mph off the bat, 399 feet -- again, to the opposite field.

Coming into tonight, the Yankees’ fastest pitch of the season was a 98.5 mph sinker by Yerry De Los Santos.

Cam Schlittler threw six pitches in the first inning that were faster than that.

Everson Pereira has hit for the cycle. Got the triple in the eighth inning to finish it off.

He is 5 for 6 with two homers and six RBIs tonight.

RHP Michael Arias, who is on the Yankees 40-man roster, made his season debut today in a rehab outing with the FCL Yankees. Allowed a leadoff single and hit a batter, but otherwise a scoreless, 1-inning outing. Yankees got him from the Cubs in January. Had a good spring training.

Have yourself a game, Cam Schlittler: 5 ip, 6 h, 2 r, 2 er, 1 bb, 9 k. 94 pitches, 67 strikes, 19 (!) swings and misses.

Ran the fastball up to 99.1 mph, averaged 97.4.

Final line on Carlos Lagrange: 6 ip, 5 h, 2 r, 2 er, 0 bb, 9 k, 1 hr. 96 pitches, 64 strikes.

I’ve got three strikeouts on the fastball, three on the changeup, and three on the breaking ball, including this one on his last pitch of the night.

That’s 50 k, 7 bb in 31.1 ip for him this season.

Here’s Yankees prospect Carlos Lagrange pumping 100 mph for his third strikeout of the night.

Oswaldo Cabrera has been in the Yankees organization longer than anyone not named Aaron Judge. Just the best guy, too.

Wilking Rodriguez has yet to allow a run this year for the RailRiders. In 6.1 innings (7 games), he’s given up two hits, walked five and struck out seven. The 35-year-old righty has pitched two games in the majors, both with the Royals in 2014.

These were his velocities today:

Good one from @conorfoleyyes.bsky.social: The Yankees had won 70 consecutive games when scoring 8+ runs (including postseason). Last such loss was August 7, 2022 at St. Louis when they lost a 12-9 slugfest to the Cardinals (Frankie Montas's Yankees debut).

Peter Serruto signed as an undrafted free agent with the Yankees in 2023, caught more than his share of sides and bullpens, appeared in six games in his career … and now the New Jersey native is the Yankees’ new bullpen catcher.

More than one way to get to the bigs.
