A typical European car is parked 92% of the time. It spends 1/5th of its driving time looking for parking. Its 5 seats only move 1.5 people. 86% of its fuel never reaches the wheels, and most of the energy that does, moves the car, not the people.

Sound efficient?

Anyone know of a starter pack or USEFUL hashtag for those who want to discuss and post about the NDP leader race? - not promotion of one candidate but exploration of ideas.

My favourite bit from the forum…thought for a moment Lewis could speak Cape Breton English, by’e.
“We need to start proposing solutions that are actually going to make people go ‘that’s right,’” Avi says.

He gives the example of Stellantis moving auto production to the U.S.

“Fine, bye. We’re going to keep that factory and all the machines that we paid for and run it under public ownership.”

“It is a time of desperation, when fascism is rising,” says NDP leadership hopeful Avi Lewis.

“The seeds are planted in the economic desperation that the system is creating.

We are the only party that can identify the cause of this: the massive concentration of wealth.”

5 yrs after the start of the worst health crisis in memory, there is a national conversation waiting to be had about the roles of the individual, society and the state in such a crisis. What is my responsibility to myself and to my community, and what is the responsibility of the state towards us?
Five years on, the right’s Covid narrative has been turbo-charged into the mainstream | Laura Spinney
Before the next outbreak, we need a serious conversation about how to cope – but first, the more strident, misguided voices must pipe down, says author Laura Spinney

Ideally, Maccabi Tel Aviv supporters should be allowed to come to Aston Villa and when they arrive at the stadium they find all their seats are occupied.

The United States is waging drone strikes in the Caribbean under the banner of fighting drugs—but history tells a different story. From Panama to Venezuela, Washington’s interventions look less like justice and more like piracy, plundering resources while ignoring international law.

40+ gathered for Draw the Line CBRM yesterday, joining over 20,000 people in 70 actions across Canada. In Wentworth Park, I noticed many of us old folk stood in back while the young choose to sit closer to the speakers-- seems fitting as they need to be the main audience to grow a movement.
