“The President outlined some of his most pressing concerns, including … rising disinformation”.

Yet in CPS, librarians who combat misinformation have almost eliminated. We must ask: who benefits from cutting school librarians?

If CPS truly values literacy, why isn’t it returning librarians to every school? CEdO Chkoumbova spoke about the importance of literacy instruction.

But CPS is silent about a proven way to improve literacy: a certified school librarian in every school www.americanprogress.org/article/inve...

Just because it may be unpopular doesn’t mean it isn’t true. Look at what reading has turned in to in schools centering testing over enjoyment. Ban books rather than provide more options. Reading is one of the most fulfilling things we can do and that has to be “controlled”

Agree! And that control is done under the veil of protection yet I’ve HS young adults actively engaged in pushing back because no one has included them in the conversation.

They want a seat at the table because those actions directly impact them!

A *key* victory was handed down in Arkansas yesterday, where a federal judge held that two sections of Arkansas's anti-library bill Act 372 violated the First Amendment.

A big win for libraries + for anti-book banning.
