I have just received a flier from EE TECH containing ideas for 'gifting'. The cheapest is £99. What planet are they on?

In case you didn't know, librarians are educated professionals with a master's degree and don't just willy nilly buy any old books for their libraries.

During World War II, we were treated to a cricket match by the occupying British forces. Played at Melavöllur, the Royal Air Force scuttled the Royal Navy by 36 runs in 1944. It was the first official cricket match here since the 11th century.

We also learned to put vinegar on chips during WWII.

If you might like to support palliative care teams in Ukraine, I co-founded the charity Hospice Ukraine in 2022, after witnessing how exceptionally courageously local teams are labouring to care for patients who could not be more vulnerable. Donating takes a moment. 🇺🇦

Grasmoor & Whiteside in the NW Lake District.

Gasgale Gill is the valley that lies between those two tops; relatively rarely visited, steep-sided, erratic-littered, flood-sculpted & re-sculpted. Among my favourite Lakes places.
Been in there?
