As fires, floods and droughts destroy communities across the country, the Trump admin is working to undermine the court-affirmed scientific determination that allows EPA to regulate the harmful greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to the intensity and frequency of these extreme weather events.

Great thread on how climate change is intensifying sudden downpours and exacerbating flash flood risks — and why it's important to understand the differences between extremes and means.
But let me be clear: Increasingly extreme downpours are one of the clearest meteorological manifestations of a warming atmosphere. This is already detectable in most place with adequate records (including eastern US); it will almost certainly become so elsewhere sooner vs later.
