Called Dan Crenshaw and asked him to sign the discharge petition. He is about to hold a Leadership summit for highschool children in a school in The Woodlands this month. If he and his guests doesn't sign should he be trusted around children?

It's been a hot summer and even though we hate baths and can't swim we will nibble on the slip n slide sprinkles.

I haven't posted in a while because of the TX legislators passing these horrible bills depressed me. Then the BBB passing. Then last weekend my state was hit by horrible floods. Im so sad for all the families. Especially those who have lost loved ones in the flood and by homeland security.

I remember the covid times as something I will always treasure as a family. I don't think our society ever experienced such a time of isolation but with my kids and husband, I look back and think the time together was a blessing. Sometimes though I remember the fear and death. I still want to cry.

Why don't our representatives want school vouchers on the ballot? Because they don't represent us. Swanson is vile. She came to our Elem. school to speak to the Cub scouts (1st-5th graders needing a requirement to meet an elected official) and started talking to the about her opinion on abortion.

Heads up! If you are a 70's or 80's baby check with your pharmacy to see if you need the measles booster. I got mine today. Stay safe!

My son had to take a make up benchmark math test today. Told him to do his best and after school we can go for a treat. I was in a meeting when he got off the bus and couldn't remind him before he caught an ice cream truck. He remembered I promised a treat after I got off work. Ended up with a fish.

A teacher friend of mine shared with me a template of what she used to call her representative. Feel free to make it your own!
First introduce yourself, name, where you live, where you work, for how long, what grade, subject, etc.

Download the 5calls app! What a great tool. I'm someone who hates calling people I don't know but this app is very helpful in just getting it done to have my voice heard!

Instead of cutting actually needed education programs can we all just agree to sacrifice learning the recorder as a compromise? I think we can all reach across the aisle and come together in solidarity that we all hate hearing hot cross buns screeching out of those vile plastic tubes of hell.

Texas school district property taxes go directly to fund the state funding formula and are distributed to each school district primarily using the Basic Student Allotment. This means the amount each district receives isn’t just based on local taxes—it 100% depends on the state funding formula.

Texas schools are closing because the state won't increase the funding per child. Call your representative and demand they put our property tax to use instead of hoarding it in a rainy day fund. This is hurting our children and their families.

Paco loves National Geographic shows. Especially when the coyotes and wolves are doing exciting things. Then he has to patrol the backyard for possums and squirrels. Have a great week!

I'm on day 3 of my new job. Day 1 was awkward and anxious. Day 2 was me killing myself to show off my awesomeness and still feeling awkward. Day 3 was easier. After 14 years working alone it is fun to have a team.

I remember in elementary school learning President Carter was a peanut farmer. I still remember the day when I saw a picture of him in Social studies and was shocked he didn't look at all like the Planter's Mr. Peanut. Rest in love and peace President Carter. Your service to help will be missed.

The money we invest in our schools matters, just look at everything a school district's budget has to cover. But when inflation rises without sufficient additional support, that money can’t go as far.

What do Texas schools spend their money on?
What do Texas schools spend their money on? Once funding reaches school districts, it is allocated across a number of different departments and initiatives. This video breaks down how one dollar is spent on Texas public education. It also identifies how decreasing school buying power has put pressure on our Texas public schools and has the potential to risk the programs parents want to see and the student learning outcomes that improve college, career, and military readiness, which all rely on properly funded public schools. Voting for candidates who support public education is critical because the Texas Legislature plays a large role in shaping the requirements and resources of every public school in our state. Smart planning and adequate funding are essential to making this system work for each and every Texan. Every election is an education election.
