Super Mario World. I never owned an SNES so it was the game all my friends had. It felt like an elevated art style at the time and, looking back at it now via something like Mario Maker 2, it looks like a difficult balance of beauty and graininess.

I love picking up copies of the old game carts and having someone’s name on it. It really locks in the feeling of “I wonder if I knew this kid…”, especially from game shops near where I grew up.

@pokemonofficial.bsky.social You guys should totally make the holiday merch stream you did with @pkmncast.com an annual thing. That was super fun to watch in a very mellow, approachable way, and it gave a better idea of what the merch is like than pics and reviews online. Thx for a fun holiday add!
