How did everyone get so fucking stupid so quickly?

About to step into the screener for Jason Statham's #AWorkingMan. Lord, if this remotely resembles The Beekeeper, give me strength.

The thing I love most about #TheMonkey is how sure of itself it is. It's never uncertain of mixing its horror and gore with humour, from the harpoon gun to the pool to the cheerleaders. That's a balance filmmakers seldomly get right. The Adam Scott intro is just, a chef's kiss of an opening scene.

One good takeaway from watching #TheGorge is it really made me want to rewatch Annihilation again, not just because the monsters basically look like a cross between cordiceps zombies and what's going on in Annihilation, but the cosmic horror is way more effective than the popcorn zombie horde.

Didn't eat my words entirely. The Gorge is a decent movie, but tries to be too many things at once, sacrificing it's romance for the second half's action thriller, and vice virsa. The prior is great, but the latter is half-baked.

One of the small joys in life is watching a film, recognising the narrative midpoint, and pausing the film to see you're halfway through the runtime. #filmsky

Now watching #TheGorge in spite of how dreadful the marketing has been. "Two people on opposing sides have to work together."
