Back in July, took a walk out to the end of Sand Point, just north of Weston-super-mare. Had the place to myself, which was a real treat. A beautiful wild spot, with so many wildflowers to enjoy.

In September, a drained Cheddar Reservoir turned into a mini wetlands, with all kinds of waders turning up to feed in the shallow waters. It was wonderful.

Had a fascinating time recently doing a tour of the Chained Library in Wells Cathedral. I hadn't known what a chained library was - books were chained to the shelves to prevent theft. (And this was in the days when only selected clergy had access 😐.) Very knowledgeable tour guides, recommended.

If I'm suitably organised and walk speedily, I can do this walk at lunchtime (I work from home). I love the sound of the little brook as it races along, so beautiful and soothing. If I'm lucky I might spy a grey wagtail.
