Sharing this important question!
Is there a national organization organizing and supporting faculty at universities cross the US working to resist and fight back against university admin efforts to impose AI into pedagogy and research?

It would be supremely helpful to be part of a shared campaign effort across universities.

This is 10-12 tenure-track assistant professors’ salaries at many places. A whole academic program’s worth of money, pissed away, In Times of Austerity, on rent-a-cops going after students who dared speak. Nobody behind this should have a career.
The University of Michigan spent $800,000 hiring private investigators--one of whom FAKED A DISABILITY--to surveil anti-genocide protesting students. I'm speechless.

Every scientist should discuss the consequences of the NIH and NSF grant terminations and delays and failure to fund at their home institution at the end of a talk or seminar. Even if a scientist’s own funding is not threatened, I GUARANTEE there is someone at their institution affected.
It's breaking my brain to hear amazing talks that show treatments that help patients developed out of fundamental research, while temporarily ignoring the backdrop of the American science funding disaster

This is not a screenplay.

For some, these will be life or death situations. For many, these natural disasters will yield devastating loss.

We should have a FEMA ready, able and fully staffed to support the American public when it needs it most.

My ongoing request:

If your NSF or NIH grant was terminated--whether at Harvard or elsewhere--please report it here.

NSF: grant-watch.us/submit-nsf.h...

NIH: grant-watch.us/submit-nih.h...

Our trackers are actively used in lawsuits and are often the only record that terminations ever occurred.
NSF appears to be terminating hundreds of its grants to Harvard, per internal sources at NSF and at Harvard. At least one division has had all its grants cut.

This is unprecedented.

The WH sometimes directs the NIH to study certain broad topics, such as cancer or women’s health, but the latest directive’s specificity, inflammatory language and focus on a hyper-polarizing topic are unusual, NIH employees told me.
