"Without accountability, it won't stop." So true, as evidenced again & again ad infinitum throughout white evangelicalism.

Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission leadership allegedly authorized a missionary in his 30s to "date" at least one missionary kid and knew about his "relationships" with teenagers. A missionary pilot protected by leadership at the expense of children.

An update to the recent post regarding the current status of the lawsuits against Ethnos360. On November 17th, the judge approved and adopted the recommendations of the magistrate to deny Ethnos360's motion to dismiss.

Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission has many programs geared towards youth and young people. Intended for recruitment, often disguised as something else, these programs attract children into a system they describe as a "funnel."

Does Ethnos360's "higher standard for the treatment of children" include refusing to investigate, failing to report, and blaming survivors, or do they just have an honesty problem?

What does "child safety" look like in Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission today? Leadership refusing to investigate, leading to 40+ children being harmed, and those implicated moving to another MK school where they continue to this day.

A heartbreaking story from an Ethnos360 MK.

Ethnos360 showed again, in the last few years, that they will harbor those who cause harm.

In this case, the family was relocated from PNG and is currently working with Ethnos360 in Indonesia.

If an investigation concludes it's more likely than not that a missionary sexually abused a child and the mission organization decides that means it didn't happen and deserves no consequences, would you trust them with your children? This is Ethnos360.

Churches continue to celebrate the "faithful" ministry of a "dorm dad" who was found to have abused children over decades. The third time he was reinstated to dorm ministry, this survivor alleges he abused her. This is Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission.

Ethnos360's director of child safety is one of the leaders alleged to have advised this man not to disclose his abuse to law enforcement until they arranged for a lawyer. He is the same leader named over 50 times in a lawsuit regarding abuse at the same facility in Missouri.
Arranging a lawyer to shield a perpetrator from the criminal consequences of abuse.

Survivors often accuse Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission of protecting the abuser. Here is a perfect example of how that played out in 2024.

Two new timelines/summaries have been added to the website. When you see how lackadaisical Ethnos360's abuse response is, even when the alleged perpetrator is still in the org with access to children, it's very clear that child safety isn't a priority.

I generally focus on the children harmed by Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission, but there are other awful experiences of abuse and coverups. In an organization that functions like a total institution, with seemingly no accountability, the consequences can be horrific.

Ethnos360/New Tribes Mission's internal investigations have found 90+ people that have harmed children, but will only name 20. We've been able to name nearly double. They could be your neighbors, pastors, ministry leaders, etc. Their silence puts children at risk.
