Hi all you people following me -- just so you know, I'm just some random guy, e-refugee like the rest of you, setting up a bluesky account. Probably not interesting. Expect crass and juvenile humour interspersed with coding and retro computing, and probably pics of my lunch.
This old girl, sogenannt "Campari", is a lady of substance and gravity, clocking in at a bit over 1/3 of an imperial ton (estimate about 900 lbs). She's a fully functional early IBM AS/400 in the process of being restored. Finding smaller yet workable shelves is proving to be challenging.

Quiet little sleeper, until you put your foot down, and then it’s a fire breathing rocket. My poor wife didn’t realize she was marrying a closet #petrolsexual. Cold air intake, performance cat and downpipe, stage 1 engine tune, all from Integrated Engineering.

I just think we're like windup toys. We're wound up when we're young and let go.. some spin around in furious little circles, some proceed in straight lines as if we know what we are doing (until we hit a wall), and some end up under the fridge with the dust bunnies, never to be heard from again

#severance the thing about Macrodata Refinement et al is "oh yeah, I worked with that dude/dudette". I have done IT consulting for a large part of my career, and seen a lot of places and people. Each of those characters, you meet them in the workplace, many times. They're very iconic/archetypical
