I deleted my last post about the play test event next week. After talking with people today, I just do not think there is any interest. I don't blame them. It takes time away from bigger fun.

Oh good. I see another news article about a simple ride breakdown. I worked on one of those drop towers. They were fine. Now I will admit that the riders had the only real concern that they could have had in the situation, and that was "will they just drop the car when we are not prepared."

I was doing testing by running constantly into a wall in my endless runner. Unity's collision for constantly running into walls while running is bad. I guess I have to turn the wall into an obstacle. I tried to be nice, but I need to keep idiots from passing through walls.

I hit such a big milestone last night in my game development project. It may not sound like a lot, but the full application loop is working. Start the application, select a character, play the game, ending the game takes you to the main menu, quit the application.

I asked 4 people for an opinion on my latest game update and not one person responded. This is my life. My only thought is, "It's that bad I guess".

This right here is the problem. That seatbelt is not the ride's restraint. The girl has the ability to unlock it herself. There is a lap bar that is doing all the actual work. I do not know why that seatbelt is there. All this is doing is frightening families away when there is nothing wrong.

People who complain about the dress code of a formal Gala at a convention seem to all be people who would not have danced anyway. Or worse, people who would stand on the dance floor preventing people who want to dance from dancing. It is formal for a reason. Lots of people enjoy the formal galas.

I can't believe that I am seeing so many complaints about McDonalds (and other stores) starting to round to the nearest .05 for cash customers. I get it that it can add up over time, but nobody should be missing a few pennies. Unless someone can show the math where it would destroy monthly budget.

As an introvert who played WoW constantly in my late 20s, I was in the group that said online friends were real friends. And they were. But it is important to have friends you can spend time with outside of games. Someone you can call for an hour or visit a dying park with.

Not every amusement park needs to be a destination park. It is acceptable for a park to just be part of the community with the occasional big ticket item. As long as the park is not losing money, why should it matter? That was what the industry looked like in its prime.

Tonight is one of those nights where I am intentionally delaying going to bed. I know it will not be easy when I am alone with just my thoughts. The day was just so hard.

The problem I see in entertainment is that way too many fans do not care about other people.

Six Flags America is now officially closed forever. I caught a live stream for the last 25 minutes. My baby Wild One had at least a 90 minute wait probably. The streamer said that Roar was not very busy. I am not surprised. If you need me, I will be crying in bed for the rest of the night.

Sorry for the image dump, but that park was a huge part of my life for so many years. As an introvert, the majority of my days during most of my 20s and all of my 30s were: go to work at Six Flags, go home, eat, sleep, go to work at Six Flags. In an hour and 15 minutes, that park will be gone.

Sorry for the image dump, but that park was a huge part of my life for so many years. As an introvert, the majority of my days during most of my 20s and all of my 30s were: go to work at Six Flags, go home, eat, sleep, go to work at Six Flags. In an hour and 15 minutes, that park will be gone.
With the park closing in a couple of hours, I have no fear of sharing behind the scenes photos from 2008. I don't have many and it is usually frowned upon to show behind the scenes photos. You never know what could get you in trouble. Me working on The Great Chase with bumper cars in the back.

I feel insulted today watching local news cry that Six Flags America is closing tonight. You can't act sad when months ago, you would not hesitate to put cell phone footage of a simple ride breakdown as a top story.

I wish I could be there today. I just want to see the crowds. I am sure there will be lots of strangers talking to each other about what the park meant to them.
Today, I cried while riding Roar for the last time. I would have cried riding Wild One, but the ride literally broke down while I was on it. I worked on that ride for 15 years. It was too funny to be sad about it. It broke down as the train was entering the station, so we still got our ride.
