There appears to be no ambition to build energy efficient homes.

Extending, insulating, redecorating will not, in our opinion, halt climate change.

Perhaps society hopes our homes will discover immortality?

Maybe it's too big an issue to comprehend?

For sure, like us, our homes age.

If we do not know how much C0₂ our homes are emitting, how can we plan?

Without a waypoint, all the maps in the world will not get us to our preferred destination?

28m homes in the UK.
Wouldn't it be something if society was incentivised to make them energy efficient?
Our local council feel this would be a tax break for the rich.
They are hoping to install 7 E.V charging points for the poor?

In the time it has taken to type these two posts, UK homes have emitted 1,651.4 tC0₂, or if you prefer, 918,508m³ of C0₂

Could anyone in the science community, or indeed the Bluesky community, tell us how much C0₂ UK homes emit annually please?
Would it be around the 76MtC0₂ the CCC claim?
Or the 173.6MtC0₂ that ONS 2024 figures indicate?
Any help appreciated.

The Ad hoc insulation of our homes, the absence of turbines in the Thames Barrier, refusal to support the Swansea Tidal Lagoon Power project, all benefit the fossil fuel industry.
Supplying net zero energy to 150,000 homes, too expensive at £1.3bn.
£21.7bn gifted to CCUS, considered value for money?

Has the incestuous relationship between politicians, the Civil Service & the fossil fuel industry led to a deliberate decision not to build energy efficient homes?
Less energy efficient homes = more fossil fuel consumed = higher returns for the fossil fuel industry & HMRC?

If, wild fires in California, floods in Valencia, bio-diversity loss & rising sea levels are not enough for us all to reduce C0₂ emissions. What will it take?

Does anyone have an opinion on why no one cares how much C0₂ is emitted by UK homes?

Could it possibly be that no one cares how much C0₂ is emitted ?

So sorry, to all those around the world affected by Climate Change.
The US administrations decision to block officials participation in the UN climate assessment seems to indicate their time is just more valuable than yours?

What happens when an affront to common sense becomes socially acceptable?
Is governance an algorithm?
It knows what we say, but also, what we want. We say we want clean air, climate stability, equality etc.
It knows we take cheap jet aways, buy aspirational vehicles & pay for premium services.

Are climate science baselines well tested?
Are climate science baselines validated?
Is the field of climate science waving, or drowning?
February 12, 2025 at 6:49 AM
Confusing. Are baselines for sciences other than climate science?
Is climate science cool with guestimates?
For example: do UK homes emit 76MtC0₂ annually as the Climate Change Committee claim, or 173.6MtC0₂ as Govt. figures indicate, how about the 502MtC0₂ the (ONS) states on a residency basis?

UK Govt:- Auditing companies accounts is dominated by four accountancy firms. KPMG, Deloitte, PwC & EY. However, there is concern that providing both accountancy & auditing services creates a conflict of interest.

Did someone mention auditing? UK Govt. :-
"Auditors" means the auditors of the Emitter, which shall be one of the following:
(A) PwC LLP
(B) EY Global Ltd
(C) KPMG LLP
(D) Deloitte, Touche, Tohmatsu Ltd : or
(E) another firm of independent & internationally reputable auditors of good standing. ?
