Sad day for #bskybeer lovers as it marks the apparent demise of Rogue. I live on the east coast but have been to their brewery/taproom in Newport many times. Unfortunately some bad business decisions were made and employees bore the brunt of it. They were great in their day but sadly lost the plot.

This is an appalling sign of the times but it’s also hard to miss the irony that MTG first got elected by beating a Democrat who received so many death threats that he and his family left Georgia before the election and never returned. This is what fascism looks like, no one is safe from it, ever.

One of the crits I’ve been hearing from centrists the past 24 hours is that here goes the left again imposing a purity test over what the Senate Dems did. Then they tut-tut about a circular firing squad, blah blah blah. Well, Mayor/Secretary Pete is no leftist and yet he gets it. This isn’t hard.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Early returns here on BlueSky regarding the Senate Democrats’ deal around the shutdown are, to put it politely, not positive. But I’m trying to withhold judgement until I see some hard news and details. If it’s as bad as portrayed you better believe I will have something to say to my senators.
