I think you put in charge some who loves Star wars, but empowers some creatives who don't care nearly as much, but make good movies and TV shows. Someone in charge of creative does have to care about how all the media hangs together, that's how we got the problems with the sequels.

Microblogging is just a catastrophically bad form of human interaction. If you sat down to design a system specifically meant to make people act out and create harassment mobs, you'd be hard pressed to build something more effectively toxic.

This is something that needs to be hammered home more- with apps and real time info, taking a bus is a vastly different experience now than when I first started taking them in 1989- the days of standing at a bus stop for 40m wondering if the bus is even running that day are long over
One thing I wrote about here is how technology has made buses *way* more convenient while techno-futurists were obsessed with flying taxis and self-driving cars.

I vividly remember this happening when I was 9. Bulls had just beat him in the Finals 5 months previous.
I (and everyone else ) thought he was going to die. Everyone else I had heard of diagnosed with HIV had died within several years... and he just didn't. The Nick News segment stuck with me.

Magic Johnson was the grand marshal of the Rose Parade today, and as someone who remembers his November 1991 HIV announcement: if you had told anybody that day that he would be alive and healthy 34+ years later, I don't think they would have believed you. Medicine and research—they work.
