I am appalled by the Rent Guidelines Board’s decision. As everyday New Yorkers struggle to balance skyrocketing costs and stagnant wages, this increase will only deepen the housing crisis and push our neighbors closer to eviction.
The Rent Guidelines Board approved at least 3% increases for New York City’s one million rent-stabilized apartments.
NYC Panel Approves Rent Increases, a Key Issue for Mamdani and Adams
Mayor Eric Adams, who appointed the Rent Guidelines Board, has attacked Zohran Mamdani’s pledge to freeze the rent if he becomes mayor.

The struggle for true liberation for Black people has not yet been won. But it is in unprecedented times like these that we reaffirm our commitment to charting a path that will lead us to our collective freedom. None of us are free until all of us are free. Happy #Juneteenth!

Proudly stood with New Yorkers for Parks and the Prospect Park Alliance in fighting for greater funding for our city’s parks. Millions of New Yorkers rely on them every day yet the Parks Department remains underfunded. We must ensure the city invests in the improvements our parks so urgently need.
