Artturi Lehkonen is probably your favorite #Avs player’s favorite player. Why?

“Because he does all the shit nobody wants to do.”

The Avs’ ‘sacrificial lamb’ will bring his smarts, courage and craft to Milan as Finland tries to surprise everyone again.

time and time again, MAGA Republicans are more excited to target and root against American athletes who have spoken out against them (or, in this case, merely expressed ambivalence) than they actually are to celebrate winning American athletes

“Just because I’m wearing the flag doesn’t mean I represent everything that’s going on in the US.”

Talked about the #Avs for about an hour this morning with @megangley.bsky.social -- what's wrong with the power play, what are the deadline needs, who has surprised and some Heated Rivalry stuff as well.

The #Avs looked good for two periods, then bent for five minutes but didn’t break against the Sharks.

They are 32-0 when they lead by two goals at any point in a game this season and clawed back some good vibes heading into the Olympic break.

Avalanche shake off blown lead, reach Olympic break with 4-2 win against Sharks
This Colorado Avalanche team with a multi-goal lead remains the safest bet in sports, but this one didn’t come easy.

#Avs Pride Night became a celebration of Heated Rivalry at Ball Arena.

Talked to fans of the Avs, fans of the show and book, a local bookstore owner, the team’s marketing director and yes, a player who has watched the series, about the pop culture phenomenon.

The #Avs have just one game before the Olympic break, but one critical objective during the stretch run once they return - fix the power play.

One of the league’s best for years, they’d take mediocre right now.

Avalanche search for answers as power-play woes continues
It’s pretty safe to assume the Colorado Avalanche aren’t going to “fix” the power play with only one game left for the 2026 Winter Olympics break.

One of the stats of the 2025-26 #Avs season to date, but one of the few that isn't really a flex and probably makes one of the big themes even more frustrating ...

Colorado is 16-0-4 when its scores at least one power-play goal.
February 3, 2026 at 10:57 PM
#Avs coach Jared Bednar said Logan O’Connor has resumed skating. He intends on skating throughout the Olympic break and he will “hopefully join the team in the near future, if everything goes well”
February 3, 2026 at 7:44 PM
Devon Toews is going to play for the #Avs tonight, so all 8 Olympians *should* be fine for next week in Milan. They went 5-6-2 without him.
February 2, 2026 at 6:45 PM
#Avs coach Jared Bednar said Martin Necas is out tonight, but could play Wednesday.

Gabe Landeskog is unlikely to play Wednesday, but Bednar said both players should be fine for the Olympics. He said Landeskog could be ready by Friday, if there was a game to be played.

What’s gone wrong for the #Avs the past 12 games? It’s not a stretch to say … everything.

Avs are worse in every phase. Best players are getting outscored. Goalies have struggled. Underlying #s have dipped.

It is not panic time. It is get right time.

For slumping Avalanche, nearly everything has slipped since historic start
This Colorado Avalanche season was nearly fissure-free during the first half. After this road trip through Eastern Canada, however, it might be all hands on deck.

"Flat" ... "not good enough" ... "we’re not moving" ... "lackadaisical at times"

The #Avs were great in Toronto. They were definitely not three days later in Ottawa.

When Nathan MacKinnon is on the ice the #Avs have outscored teams 85-29 at even strength.

When Nathan MacKinnon is on the ice *without Cale Makar* … the Avs have outscored teams 35-8 at evens.

When Nathan MacKinnon is on the ice without Martin Necas, it’s 18-5 at evens.

Jack Drury scores with 1:07 remaining in the 2nd period. Pretty breakout from a Kelly-Drury-Kiviranta line, and Drury had time to pick his spot. He picked the same one Nelson did earlier - just under Woll's glove, but from the other side of the ice.

3-0 #Avs

Brock Nelson goes back with his normal linemates and scores again after a dominant shift from the 2nd line.

Artturi Lehkonen set him up. Timeout Leafs.

2-0 #Avs, 7:31 in

Nelson has 26 goals in ~49.15 games. He had 26 in 80 games last year.
January 25, 2026 at 6:56 PM
Brock Nelson and Nathan MacKinnon get a 2-on-1 off a Leafs miscue and Nelson buries it from the right circle.

1-0 #Avs
