it's a while since i started my #nixos journey, but i enjoy it a lot. best way to describe would be a quote from one of the reddit guys who said

You now have 2 problems to solve
1) your core problem
2) to find the nix way of solving it
good thing: when you solved it - you will *never* face it again

we are so back #mavs

I think ignoring #vivaldi as a browser was a huge mistake from me. just installed it on nixos because I became a bit frustrated with the lag of #firefox (which i still love - don't get me wrong), but vivaldi flyes

finally my old gaming machine is up and running - and #bazzite looks extremely gooooood!

messing around a bit with D4 which for some reason random-freezes my machine in bigscreen-mode, but not when i start it from desktop-mode (might be a gamescope thing), but everything else I did worked 10/10!

since #deepseek is still rocking the show on financial news, let me say 2 things

1st: it's just hilarious that #openai complains about PI when everybody knows that they trained their model giving a sh*t on any IP at all. code from #github, discussions from #reddit, speech and videos from #youtube

#deepseek seems to annoy a couple of investors today :)

never heard the term #opensource that often in finance news

man oh man .... setting up #nvim in #nixos took waaaaay longer than expected. but i guess i learned something.

sure - looking at my config now, i somehow don't understand why it took me that long, but hey - if #nix keeps it's promise, that might be the last time i did it ... right

alright ... i do get that excitement about #nixos - i feel it as well ... somehow

but my beloved lazy #nvim setup will force me to jump even deeper in that rabbit hole I guess

a distro so different after many years on #linux tingles my inner nerd big time
January 10, 2025 at 6:19 AM
alright ... i think i found my challange for this year ... lets go #nixos

the first tests on a vm look promissing with a minimal dwm setup and i think i can get everything working ... lets gooooo #linux & #nixos

trying out f-droid.org/de/packages/... ... seems like a nice little app with everything necessary to connect to an AI-API (currently playing around with #openrouter).

would be interesting if there is already a platform to share user/system prompts for AI-APIs. Is there already a common standard?

repairing an old piece of IT can drive one crazy. machine is +10y old - started to not boot up anymore, so i thought - lets take some spare parts and repair that old thing to run #bazzite on it.

1) checked all ram combinations (different dimms, different number of rams)
2) exchanged PSU

trying #aider for "AI-peer-programming" and switched from o1-mini to deepseek v3 because of the difference in $

it's surprising how quick and easy it works - and it does respect my input to "DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE" :D

after setting up librera fd on my pixel and tablet (syncing books and progress via #syncthing) it was time to find a nice ebook-reader for my minimal dwm setup on the #raspi ... I can't help myself, but I still think that the calibre-viewer is the "snappiest" ebook-reader #foss #ebooks #calibre

little tipp because just experienced on #immich ... if you run it using the docker image and you update the docker (sudo docker compose pull) ... you might have problems afterwards if you don't update the docker-compose.yml itself then(!) do the pull ;)
