It is states who are are responsible for protecting us from the climate crisis, and they can and should be held accountable if they fail to protect human rights.
The admission that Ireland will significantly overshoot its carbon budgets to 2030, combined with the absence of a revised Climate Action Plan to remedy this, is extremely worrying.
