Of course it all started to go wrong when the UK was formally colonised by Rome under Julius Caesar! Successive immigrations, big and small, have made the UK the country we are today. A country of which I am proud to eb a citizen.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is right – this Country has been colonised by immigrants – for more than 2,000 years!
By an incredible chance, the nasty little tax dodger who is a co-owner of Manchester United has got it right when he says that this Country has been colonised by immigrants, because it has been, with successive waves of immigration, since at least AD 55 when Caeser turned up with his legions! Mind you Ratcliffe has little loyalty to this Country – he is now officially resident in Monaco!

Blue Labour tries to recreate a past where pretty much all working-class voters were Labour's. It's gone for good; the right-wing working-class backed Brexit & Johnson, now they march with Farage's old Tories. It's not reversible; Labour has to decide what political ground it wants to occupy.

Should America ‘nationalise’ elections?

The short answer is yes a national set of rules and controls does need to be put in place. but not in such a way that they will not guarantee fairness within the system and a fair vote for all. The United Kingdom does not have identical election systems…

The short answer is yes a national set of rules and controls does need to be put in place. but not in such a way that they will not guarantee fairness within the system and a fair vote for all. The United Kingdom does not have identical election systems across the whole of our Country. However, we do have a system in which the UK Government as a whole has taken an in-principle decision about the number of Members of Parliament and the type of voting system that will be used.

What on earth was in Starmer's mind when he appointed Mandelson to the most important diplomatic post in the UK Foreign Service? Probably we will never know but I am sure that Starmer is regretting it.
Of course, Mandelson should resign from his seat in the House of Lords
I will be honest with you – I have never been impressed by Peter Mandelson. From the apocryphal moment when he confused mushy peas for guacamole on a fleeting visit to his North East Constituency whilst an MP there has always been, “something of the night” about him! I believe that he is one of the people that has brought politics into disrepute and that was before all the stuff that has come out about him and Epstein.

Our wonderful Liver Birds stand sentinel over Liverpool from their eyrie at the Pier Head. Why not come and see for your self what out wonderful city has to offer,
Why YOU should come and live in Liverpool.
In 1974 I came to live in Liverpool on a short-term contract and did not expect to be here after 9 months. Liverpool was not a strange place to me. All my cousins lived in Liverpool or had become ‘wools*’ in Maghull and Crosby. That was my Mum’s side. My Dad came from Kingston upon Hull, and his siblings had no children.
