they're working very hard to weaponize our hunger and starve the poor. this is a deep cruelty that shouldn't be possible. an absolute violation of human rights
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

Like... Food stamps aren't happening this month because some Republicans are determined to keep poor people suffering and maybe cull our numbers (lack of evidence, speculation) and give tax breaks to people who have plenty. I'm disabled, I can't work because a job would pay me less than my SSI,
