Went to parent-teacher evening. Classroom whiteboard showing stock market widgets.

In a PRIMARY SCHOOL.

Schools: ditch Windows bloat, try Linux. Free, customizable, no corporate nonsense. Just tools built for learning, not trading desks.

From Europe 🌍, the US 🇺🇸 political news feels alarming. I’d love to understand better from people who live there 💬 — how does it feel on the ground? 🤔 #USPolitics #Democracy

I consider myself a #privacy advocate, but lately I’m trading privacy for better outcomes with #AI tools like Claude.

The results are genuinely impressive.

How do you navigate the tension between AI benefits and privacy concerns?

Love #NixOS for everything - laptop, servers, you name it. But here I am on a train, captive portal won’t show, spent an hour troubleshooting wifi.
NixOS’s weak spot: unplanned situations. How do you handle the unexpected when reproducibility can’t save you? 🚂💻

🌴 On holiday, enjoying my time off.
🚨 Alert: Segfault on a Homelab VM.
🤖 Me: “Hey #AI, can you fix this?”
AI: “Sure!”
• Deletes persistent volumes 💣
• Wipes the VM drive 💥
• Tries a backup to a full disk, fails silently 🤫

I only have a basic understanding of #LLM and #AI, but I wonder:

Is it feasible to combine models like pieces in a puzzle?

📚🤔 Could models be sold with/like books, contributing to a grander composition? Just a thought—if it were possible, it might have already been suggested. #MachineLearning

What does `I would like to receive information via email related to my use of Microsoft Learn` means in this context? Do I receive only privacy update or I am subscribing to notifications? It looks like it is required 😳

What is happening right now?

ChatGPT/OpenAI outage for 3 hours

Heroku down for 4 hours (even their status page is down!) NVIDIA dev docs as well (runs on Heroku)

Pipedrive (CRM) issues for 4 hours

What else is down… and are these connected? Something started 4 hours ago…

The AI world is rapidly evolving, with new models popping up every week. However, there is a problem: we have no standard to talk to them. Standardization will allow anyone to easily evaluate and use different models and ways to run models. I wrote down some of my thoughts on this topic:
Can someone create an LLM standard?

Tried Cursor as a Neovim user but didn’t feel like I was missing much thanks to Avante.

Now I’m testing Windsurf—and WOW. Agents that think like developers by retrieving context or searching the web step by step is next level.

I NEED this in Neovim!

I realized that while I love Tailscale for connecting anything. I should not use it for my Home🏡.
I have Unifi at home. Using Tailscale feels like duplication. I feel now having two networks.

I would be better to setup VLANs and ACL on Unifi and having #WireGuard setup there. #selfHosting #Homelab

Is there a plugin at @raycast.com that allows me to do the following:

Write: `Remind me in 5 minutes`

Then, 5 minutes later, I receive a notification. When I click on it, it redirects me to the app or URL that was in focus when I set the reminder.

My Christmas gift from #homeassistant just arrived. I am not allowed to play with it before the kids get their toys. 😩

Relying on AI to quickly program makes me feel like I’m losing my ability to design solutions. I usually take this route when I’m tired, but still… it’s unsettling. #AI #CodingLife #DeveloperThoughts #TechReflections

Tried taking a shortcut with AI for a quick Python script. Ended up in a mess of outdated code and dependency version conflicts. Painful back-and-forth—shortcuts aren’t always quicker! #Python #AI #CodingLife #DevProblems #AutomationFails

#SelfHosting has been a journey for me. I’ve gone through Docker, Kubernetes, Docker Compose, and LXC, and I still can’t decide which I prefer. Kubernetes’ self-healing is great, Docker Compose makes things so simple, and LXC feels like a real machine on the network—plus, no guilt using apt install.

How do you document your #SmartHome setup? What tools and structure do you use to keep everything organized? Looking for inspiration! I tried obsidian, see the screenshot.
