My wife is a Democratic State Senator in Vermont. My mind reels at the idea that people like her, who dedicate so much time & energy to serving the public, are being targeted by homegrown terrorists, encouraged by the federal government to treat political opposition as an enemy to be eliminated.
Gov. Tim Walz says Democratic Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband were shot and killed last night in “a political assassination.”

A client who is from Venezuela but also lived in Syria knows what it is like to live under a dictatorship! She tells me that the slide into authoritarianism in Venezuela with Hugo Chavez started the same way that it is happening here in the U.S under Trump. We must save our Democracy!

An estimated 20,000 strong in the smallest state showed up for Democracy in the rain. Enjoyed reading many of the creative protest signs and listening to the rally call by the speakers.

I find that completing puzzles helps me to relax and will hopefully help me keep my sanity over the next 4 years. I better get a lot of puzzles!

The temporary homeless shelter at DaVinci Center is in need of donations, which include sweatpants, socks, mittens, earplugs, and sweatshirts. They were at overflow capacity last night.

A client just called me to ask if I can help him get the State to "send" him to Guyana because as a child of an immigrant from the DR, he mistakenly thinks that he can be sent anywhere as according to Trump, he is not "American" enough. I wish the State would send me somewhere nice.
