Turns out Aonishiki injured his left shoulder during Nagoya basho. Though he isn't skipping the Jungyo, he is pacing his practice to avoid exacerbating it.

Turns out Aonishiki injured his left shoulder during Nagoya basho. Though he isn't skipping the Jungyo, he is pacing his practice to avoid exacerbating it.

Atamifuji was in the chase for the yusho until veteran Takayasu spoiled it all by refusing to be pushed off the bales and regrouping to throw his young aite down--hard.
