roses, colors continue to be hard, the green i got turns out more blue on the page weirdly, the red's ok, but just working with them in general is a lot harder than black

been a stressful couple of weeks, trying to get back to it, could tell i was a bit out of practice, but a friend got me some color ink sticks so i wanted to try it out, mostly just scribbles to see how they worked but theres some elements in there i dont hate

it’s bat friday! im working on this piece of a pallid bat swooping down to eat an arizona bark scorpion (fun fact: arizona bark scorpions are the most venomous scorpions in north america! but these bats can eat them no problem 😊) #science #bats #bugs #arthropods #sciart #illustration

grey fox - was about to pack up painting supplies when this guy showed up, had to move quick and had to paint standing to get him, he left right as i was finishing, might try and paint him again now that i have the reference but wanted to try to get something in the moment while looking at him

tiger lily practice, not my best but mostly just impressed i managed to do black on black spots, that felt good to pull off, black but not black and pulling out tones and all that, feels good when i can do layered shades like that to add details to things

friend gave me a challenge for a fern, came out kinda shitty but good practice, brush control and im getting better at avoiding being too literal and separating things out too much, looking at the greater whole and all
