Old drink and drugs nurse, end the war on people who use drugs, end prohibition, legalise drugs make them safe and quality controlled. I wish for world peace, idealistic some may say. Views are my own.
Utterly shameful rise in preventable drug related deathshttps://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/crime/drug-deaths-figures-nitazenes-overdose-b2847322.html
Drug deaths soar to 30-year high with four-fold surge in lives lost to nitazenes
A record 5,565 people died in 2024 – the highest since 1993 – including 195 who took deadly new synthetic drugs, which are up to 100 times more potent than heroin

Nitazene Reflections - test strips
1. Test strips help people who use drugs identify if their heroin is cut with synthetic opioids. This is helpful in the early stage of a synthetic opioid crisis.
2. Test strips trigger peers to take extra risk management strategies.

Heroin in Bath is testing positive for nitazenes. New batch - distinctive reddy colour. Peers reporting feeling headachy, dizzy and light headed. Making people sedated and sleepy. Pushing tolerance up so peers clucking when switching source.

Excellent article disecting the horrendous move to sanitize and expand enforced abstinence in Canada this move is dehumanising, I fear that this type of state control and co-ercion could spread given the way the world is lurching.

We need these facilities in many areas of the UK, my personal feeling is they could be less "clinical" while remaining safe, hope the relaxation area is a bit less hospital aesthetic however this is finally a start #harmreduction #endprohibition thanks to @peterkrykant.bsky.social for his activism

Most comments are thoughtful, sensible, and open-minded. A contrast with the ignorant moralising prejudice some opponents show (See our 'Don't be a Harold' film www.youtube.com/watch?v=-l3B...)

"Sobriety" can be so dangerous especially when coerced by others who value abstinence above all else. Prohibition increases danger, better to be using safe regulated supply than abstinent and hospitalised. I really hope she survives this.
It's not about the drugs, ever!!!

This is utterly shameful, the authorities sadly have no shame. I reckon they could probably trust her? Stop sending people to prison who are not a threat, so many crimes are not appropriate for prison sentences the UK loves to "lock em up". www.theguardian.com/society/2024...

Fully agree, prohibition creates the illicit market, in turn this creates exploitation, the constant emotive "county lines" terminology only helps those who are moral crusaders, drugs if controlled and regulated can be enjoyed free from fear of all the crap the prohibition gravy train supports
"Crackdowns" lead to more violence, more exploitation & more harm as organised crime responds to police tactics.

The only way to truly address the exploitation of people within the drug trade is to legalise & regulate all drugs.
