I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

Horrific, horrific news from Alder Hey in Liverpool.

And I’m already seeing anti-vax nonsense in response to this tragic news on social media. We are living in such dangerous times.
Child with measles dies in Alder Hey as officials fear outbreak
The child, who has not been formerly identified, is only the second to have died due to measles in the UK in the past decade

The US rep to the IEA said that "pursuing offshore wind power would make countries reliant on China." It's instructive to explore this sort of claim, in particular for what it reveals about those claiming it. Two points:🧵
At energy security talks, US pushes gas and derides renewables
The US envoy to the IEA's energy security summit pushed gas and criticised renewables, arguing that they cause power cuts

This. Spain has the good fortune to have vast wind and solar resources and the good sense to invest enthusiastically in them. It's on track to being Europe's green energy superpower.
For the first time ever, wind and solar energy are covering more than 100% of demand in mainland Spain. The excess is being stored and exported. The Spanish are achieving these numbers and there is still so much more potential to tap. What incredibly exciting opportunities there are for Spain here.
¡Pues ya estamos! ¡¡¡Primera vez en la historia!!! La energía eólica y la solar cubren más del 100% de la demanda en España peninsular. A las 11h05 el 100,09%. Todas las renovables, tambien récord, 115,14%
