'In the UK we’ve somehow convinced ourselves that the only viable model for student housing involves luxury studio flats with ensuite bathrooms, designer kitchens and increasingly impossible rents.' Interesting, esp. in light of HEI multi-crises (maintenance costs, cold spots etc). 1/2

Does a backwards imprint spotted at the end of a digitised 17thC book indicate a bibliographic mishap (a page’s acidic ink creating an imprint on the preceding leaf); or a digital one? As DeLuca expertly discusses, “technical imperfections can mimic historical artifacts”

Paid a visit to Anne Clifford’s “Great Painting” today. Found it quite moving that my 3-year old is the same height as Anne’s brothers, depicted in life-size. Toddlers, separated by 350+ years, meeting eye-to-eye.

An important survey of a still deeply intractable problem, which shows little sign of resolution at scale (underlined) across all of AHSS any time soon, despite pockets of progress. And the current transatlantic financial crisis for HEIs are only compounding the challenges. Sadly.
