They are holding the people to ransom. Blaming the Dems, because the Dems won't agree to the Repubs bill to remove aid to those in need. Dems are quite right. They cannot simply give away Medicaid, SNAP, etc. which is what the R's want before opening the house. It's blackmail, pure and simple.
The USDA is the fail safe for SNAP.
They have a contingency fund to ensure it’s covered in the event of a shutdown.
They’re refusing.
Grocery stores stepped up to try and help by offering discounts to any SNAP recipients and the USDA told them they had to stop.
Starvation as a policy choice.

It still boggles my mind that so many people couldn't grasp last year how significantly more morally depraved a second Trump term would be in comparison to the first. And how so many people still can't comprehend that our national crisis isn't about politics, but simple morality.

I so much blame his enablers. Those without a spine who refuse to stand up for him. Those who daily KNOW what he is doing is wrong, but mentally dismiss it out of fear or because they are just like him. How did we come to this? More importantly now, how do we get out of it?
