Exactly. The button stunt was straightforward disinformation - an intentionally deceptive action with the aim of harming another party. Appallingly bad judgment.

Not only does it play into Pierre Poilievre’s hands, it's also going to embolden conspiratorial thinkers and make it harder to counter the conspiratorial narratives they were mocking
The Liberal ‘button’ scheme was a colossal self-own. That’s not the worst part of it
The effect of the scheme on the Liberals is one question. Its effect on how people perceive politics is quite another.
