Last week at our annual Tower Lighting celebration, we honored Sean Stanley as our Corps Member of the Year!
After serving as an AmeriCorps member, Sean enrolled in the Center for Sustainable Careers, then went on to secure a job as an electrical apprentice.

In 2026, more young adults will come to Civic Works looking for opportunities. There are many ways to support them this afternoon.

Khyrice earned a GED this year. He also earned two construction career certifications. Most importantly, Khyrice learned about himself – that he’s a leader, he’s resilient, and he can be patient and give himself grace while he’s learning.

Recently, Civic Works’ Elder Services, Benefits Application Assistance, and Real Food Farm partnered with the EQUIP program - a collaboration between Leading Age, Elder Services, and Lifebridge - to host a food drive and incentive store at four of the buildings we work with.

We had a lovely staff Thanksgiving lunch today! An afternoon of bingo, a Birthday Surprise prank (it wasn’t really anyone’s Birthday 😆), mingling and togetherness! We’re grateful for the opportunity to serve our community and look forward to continuing our work, making an impact in Bmore every day.
