The biggest lie told to women is that hard work will lead to success. Hard work got me a lot of things…
😡stress
😩burnout
🙃perfectionism
🥺poor health
It didn’t get me to executive leadership or a life. Other things did.

Do good work, and reclaim your nights and weekends. Good work is enough.

A little something you can do for your #mentalheath at work. Align your day’s to-do, with your energy level. Example. I was low on energy maybe because of the rainy day. Instead of writing the big project. I opted for research/reading for other work. Still moving forward but w/no resistance.

How was your Monday workday? Mine was great. But it wasn’t always like that. I hated Mondays. What changed? I started to focus on work that I really liked, stopped proving myself, learned how to really progress in my career, I prioritized my health. It’s all the things they don’t teach us.

Dating myself, but here it goes. Remember the song, Everybody’s Working for the Weekend? Are you? Then you’ve got a ton of family or work obligations for the weekend. A #mentalhealthtip - that’s not healthy. It’s not about doing more, but doing what matters. #workadvice #lifeadvice

It’s about redefining success. You can have a career and a personal life. It’s time to stop believing the lies that you can’t, and that money and title ares the keys to happiness. They are not! I’m speaking from personal experience here.
I was chasing money at work, but in fact,

I should chase time with my friends, family and loved ones.

Wishing you a good start to a new week, guys!

The healthy woman leader newsletter tomorrow focuses on how work causes us to disconnect from our bodies. In work expectations we learn to ignore what our bodies need. But there are also ways to get back into your body which we discuss. To learn more, subscribe. www.citrine-consulting.com/newsletter

Do you feel like you can take time out of your work day for your health? I hope the answer is Yes. I take a monthly message during my workday. Like any one else i have deadlines and pressure. But my value is health, so i make time for it. Everyone loves a healthy leader, especially the leader.

If Wednesday is your countdown to the weekend you’re not alone. But also, it’s not normal. Just because it’s been normalized doesn’t mean it’s healthy. Ask yourself why the need to get to the weekend…every week? Reflection is the first step.

We need to redefine success as women. If it doesn’t include our mental, physical and emotional health… i can clearly say from experience, it’s no success at all. The titles and the money are not compensation for health.
