Want to show them you're a great screenwriter? Write a great script. Want to show them you're a lazy wannabe not interested in compensating people for their work or collaborating with actual humans? Use AI in your pitches.
it is fucking DEPRESSING the amount of screenwriters using AI for pitch decks, posters, and their own creative work, too

defend your use of it all you like but it makes you look cheap, it makes you look like a hack, and you're using work that's been stolen from your fellow artists to generate slop

Fun ELF tidbit--we had a meeting at New Line the day they'd just had their first internal screening of the movie, and the mood was DIRE. I remember getting the impression they thought they had a bomb on their hands. But this could potentially be an unreliable memory!
The production of ELF met with a nearly crippling obstacle… and then, a Christmas MIRACLE made it all possible!

This title card was attached to the end of a ROCKFORD FILES episode from 1978 about a bad guy setting up a massive computer network to spy on people. We should've listened, Jim.

This Is Spinal Tap, Stand By Me, The Princess Bride, When Harry Met Sally, Misery--all perfect movies directed by one man, Rob Reiner. Loved his work so much Schmigadoon! season 3 was going to be a Princess Bride tribute even though it wasn't a musical. RIP, Mr. Reiner.

I'm a big Bryan Fuller fan, and I just saw his new movie DUST BUNNY, which is just as great as I'd hoped it would be. More movies like this, please!

My agent left a message beginning with "Hey Cinco it's Frank" and my apparently super-religious iPhone translated it as this. Is this the first scene in a Black Mirror episode?
