I’m not great at social media — or social anything, really — but I’m doing my best.

Celiac disease. Neurodivergent. Brilliant. Clueless.

Nice to meet you.

Quick question: Why is the character limit for a photo’s Alt-Text so much larger than a post? (Skeet?)
Do you ever have a hard time reading a book because it’s just too hype? I’m ~150 pages into “Persepolis Rising” — Book 7 of The Expanse — and I literally have to stop reading after every chapter to break and breathe. I may have a problem

I've been researching the idea of Unconditional Universal Basic Income since 2013. Here's a collection of findings I've compiled from various UBI experiments and studies of cash transfer programs around the world.

This will be a VERY LONG and ongoing thread focused entirely on empirical evidence. 🧵

In 1890, the X and Y chromosomes were discovered. It was found that the men who were tested had 46 chromosomes, including an X and a Y, while women who were tested also had 46 chromosomes, including 2 X chromosomes.
So obviously the conclusion was that the Y chromosome defined masculinity.

I think one of the best things to come out of this year’s Election Day was finally signing up for a library card.

What if we start a trend of “liking” posts that ask good questions and not just the good answers? People who initiate solid discourse should be thanked somehow.

"If a woman doesn't look woman enough to a Republican, they want to be able to inspect your genitals to use a bathroom? It's disgusting.

Everyone should reject it completely... they're endangering women, they're endangering girls of all kind, and everyone should reject it. It's gross." - AOC

Picking up food after a long day of work. It’s hard to find gluten-free food open late. Duckbills is tucked away inside of a neighborhood bar, but it’s good food and a fun environment.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the inside of a bar, though, and it’s making me feel old.

I never did continue about my weight loss journey. I managed to lose ~60 lbs between 9/1/23 and 7/1/24. Then, I fell out of my exercise and diet routines and plateaued, but I’m overall much happier with where I’m at. Still maintaining, but can’t find the motivation to keep working at losing more.

Almost sent a text to my friend that “there’s something about this Hitler rally that’s really getting to me” then I realized holy shit a guy who is a coin flip away from the presidency is hosting a Hitler rally 9 days away from the election. That’s not a me problem. Please fucking vote, people.

Folks, a pro tip: If you are blocked by someone here on Bluesky (or indeed anywhere else), don't send them an email in an attempt to litigate your blockage. Not only doesn't it work, it actually confirms their wisdom in blocking you. Accept they have their own reasons for their actions and move on.

So, this year (2023) I decided to get back to trying to lose weight. After decades of bloating and poor nutrition from Celiac disease, I would like to get back to a more proper shape. It’s been rough, but I feel like I’m finally making progress. Down 15 pounds since the beginning of September.

So I’m new here on BSky. I’m not sure what I’m doing here, really. Except maybe looking for news I can trust. I’ll eventually get around to posting a profile pic and, just maybe, posting something personal.
