I’ve hit peak middle age. While at the Dick’s at Oxmoor Mall today, my own child is screwing around on the escalator and I say “someone get that kid off the escalator” and no one around me was old enough to get the movie reference.

I saw someone post about their grandmother’s cooking earlier and I wanted to chime in about my family thanksgiving memories. My grandmother was an amazing cook; this was always a great holiday in our family. And it wasn’t just how tasty the food was; it was the mastery of logistics she had.

File under “Dudes are weird”: at a birthday party for one of our 5 year old’s classmates this morning. All of the moms are talking in groups and all of the dads are just standing individually, just watching. It’s like these ladies married all of the shy dudes at the school dance (myself included).

At our 1st Boy Scouts mtg and it’s fascinating to watch the kids. My son’s group is 5 thru 10 y/o. Boys are bouncing around, constantly chattering, 0 focus. Girls are stock still, focused on the scoutmaster, answering his questions, totally zeroed in. It’s not surprising, just such a stark contrast.

Day 3 of X with auditors in our market. Really great team, know their stuff and are fantastic partners. But these all day marathons and daily outbriefing meetings are taking years off my life/heart!
