My NIH Loan Repayment Application stayed on "Pending IRG Review," meaning it was never reviewed. It was also not funded. My student loan repayment costs more than my MORTGAGE!! (over 30% of take home salary). Although I am committed to health disparities research, this is a burdensome price to pay.

What a wild switcheroo to go from telling your new employer that you're the best candidate to begging for guidance on how to navigate tenure and be the most insecure version of yourself 😆

Looks like someone used ChatGPT to prepare a report!
The Trump administration released a report last week that it billed as a “clear, evidence-based foundation” for action on a range of children’s health issues. But the report, from the Make America Healthy Again Commission, cited studies that did not exist. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/29/w...

TLDR: Twitter starting sucking before DOGE; jump ship!
"It has nothing to do with the controversies surrounding owner Elon Musk and his chaotic attempts to dismantle much of the federal government. Instead, the site simply isn’t getting anywhere near the engagement levels it once did..."

Breaking: Hours after Elon Musk reassured Cabinet that efforts to contain the Ebola outbreak in Uganda had only been “accidentally canceled very briefly,” the Trump administration terminated at least four of the five contracts for Ebola-related work in that country.

Contrary to Musk’s Claim, Ebola Containment Efforts Were Slowed Then Stopped, Former Officials Say (Gift Article)
The contracts financed Ebola screening at airports and protective equipment for health workers, and helped prevent transmission by survivors of the disease, according to a former U.S.A.I.D. official.

I've never really had any major health issues, but I've been ill since early Jan. Flu, sinusitis, strep, and then a severe adverse reaction to antibiotics. I miss feeling healthy, and this longing is compounded by fears of where we're headed as we roll back science, public health, & medicine...

Thank you to everyone who stands with USAID. Share far and wide. Unfortunately we don’t have $40 million to buy up ads during the Super Bowl. Even if we did, we’d use it to support the U.S. economy while feeding kids around the globe.
