Newsom v. Trump ruling, from Judge Breyer, opening sentence. 🔥 👨‍⚖️

"The Founders designed our government to be a system of checks and balances. Defendants, however, make clear that the only check they want is a blank one."

Damn, that is making a point! 🔥

The cruelty is the point.

Rampant human rights abuses in immigrant prisons (for the crime of wanting a better life), while Ghislaine Maxwell gets a puppy and walks in the park.

Two days after the Trump regime released a doctored photo of a Minnesota protester to make it look like she was crying when she wasn't, they want us to believe their explanation for shooting a man to death on a Minneapolis street.

Meanwhile, while the craziness of the news cycle plays out, slower moving crises (water, climate, genocide) continue unabated.
The world is entering “water bankruptcy,” UN researchers warn — draining rivers, aquifers and glaciers far faster than nature can replace them.

With 4 billion people already facing seasonal water scarcity, scientists say the crisis is now one of irreversible damage, not shortage alone.

More than 200,000 Danish citizens have signed a petition to buy California as a response to Trump’s attempt to take Greenland.

They say they will provide Californians with “rule of law, universal health care, fact-based politics, and a lifetime supply of Danish pastries.”

I heard a disturbing thing today on local @npr.org affiliate @kuow.org. It was a promo for an upcoming segment where they would discuss "why acquiring #Greenland could be strategic for the U.S."

Parroting deranged rhetoric, visions of empire and ILLEGAL grabs of sovereign land is a new low for NPR!

Trump, Rubio and the U.S. military are hiding their military action in Venezuela under the guise of a law enforcement action to avoid accountability to Congress.

A law enforcement action that results in more than 80 people dead, innocent of any charges, has another word to describe it: a massacre.

Congress can remove him in a matter of days.

Failure to do so is complicity.

Watching this coverage it would easy to conclude that this woman has no regard for the rule of law and that she is only motivated by power and contempt.

It would also be easy to conclude that D Senators need some serious coaching. They fell completely flat. Again.
