History doesn't remember. *People* remember.

I’ve finished my outline for a new screenplay “The Lion of Lancaster” after months of reading, researching and lamenting. Now to begin the first draft… I’m excited and terrified! This story is too important to f-up.

My kiddo has been preparing for college app season with the first batch due November 1st. Anxiety all around. Thing is, she doesn’t want Early Decision because we haven’t visited her top choices yet. This entire process is wild! She’s talented, has 3.7 gpa yet scared it’s not good enough. Help!😂

I’m strongly recommending Netflix film Fair Play. This film is smart, disturbing, unsettling and a cautionary tale on so many levels. Script/Direction is on point. Acting is superb and when I tell you you’ll be thinking about this long after viewing… you will.

I applaud any historian who can pull $50k-$100k for speaking fees. Unfortunately, it means nonprofits, most museums or less affluent communities don’t have live access to their wit, wisdom, and scholarship… unless you “have an in.”

I taught a primer yesterday for museum staff about the business of museums. What I’ve come to realize is the need exists for staff at all levels to understand the scope, types, ethics, and economic realities under which museums must operate. Their questions were gold, so maybe a part 2.

One of my dearest is visiting London and Paris for the 1st time. They asked what must sees I recommend in London. I said The British Museum. She said, WTF! Everything in there is stolen! I said- that’s my point. You must see it and then you’ll truly understand the cultural harm.

Watching X-Files and latest “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” tv ad came on. Told my kiddo the ads started when in late 80s. She then has the AUDACITY to say, “So mom, how’s it feel to need that soon!” 🤯
